There is a planned Euro workout in June 2024 (28th- 30th June)
Seminar schedule – TBA but the intention is for 60 – 90min sessions with lead instructor with everyone participating ( a little different to Winterfest). I will intend to invite instructor from different associations ( if they attend tp present as this is a friendship gathering to celebrate Uechi) – this is about extension your understanding of Uechi and its application, rather than lots of people going through the normal dojo regime.
It’s a real opportunity for all associations to get together and celebrate our mutual love of Uechi-Ryu over this 3-day event.
The event will be held in the Historic town of Ramsgate in the southeast of England, Ramsgate began as a fishing and farming hamlet. The Christian missionary St Augustine, sent by Pope Gregory the Great, landed near Ramsgate in 597AD.The town is home to the Shrine of St Augustine.
The construction of Ramsgate Harbour began in 1749 and was completed in around 1850. The harbour has the distinction of being the only Royal Harbour in the United Kingdom. Because of its proximity to mainland Europe, Ramsgate was a chief embarkation point both during the Napoleonic Wars and for the Dunkirk evacuation in 1940.
Nearby there are a number of historic towns including Broadstairs – favourite home of Charles Dickens and the home of the Old Curiosity shoppe, Sandwich famous for the Home of the PGA Open at the Royal St George Golf course, Dover with its historic links to WW2 and of could the historic (which has been inhabited since Prehistoric times) Cathedral ( founded 597AD) town of Canterbury, famous for the Canterbury tales and home of the Arch Bishop of Canterbury.
