Patricia Dando has dedicated her life to serious karate training, based on self protection principles, after being a victim of a brutal assault. After training in different styles she moved to Florida and began studying Shito ryu karate. She eventually found the art of Uechi ryu and her journey under Grandmaster George E Mattson continues to this day. Her dream to recognize, support and advocate the importance of women in martial arts has pushed her to start the organization Women of Uechi. She continues to learn and broaden her understanding of the arts as a student attending seminars and private training. She also is honored to teach in the school she co owns with her husband. She is an accomplished rider studying the art of dressage and is a lifetime passionate horse owner.
