I have been training continuously since 1968 without breaks.

Hanshi Lee Adams has been teaching Uechi Ryu continuously since 1986 either as a Club instructor or as a dojo owner. In 2005 I started training in Tomiki Aikido with the British Aikido Association, in 2009 I opened my own Dojo, and has been teaching continuously since then. In the mis 1980’s I wrote articles in Traditional Karate magazine

I have competed at domestic, national and international level. And am a qualified international referee.

Currently Chair of the British Aikido Association, and head of The Shogun Martial Arts School.

Over this period, I have trained with a number of Japanese and Okinawan instructors.

Including Hironori Ōtsuka founder of Wado Ryu, Nariyama and Shishida Heads of Shodokan and JAA Tomiki Aikido, Nakahodo, Yamashiro, Yonamine, Toburo, Okuhama Uechi Ryu Karate.

In 2017 trained and taught in Okinawa with senior Okikukai instructors for an intensive 10 days. This included personal daily instruction with Nakahodo Sensei. I also had the privilege to teach at the senior Okikukai gathering in Naha.

Has presented at Winter and Summer fest in the USA in 2019 and again at Winterfest in 2020 to the present.

In 2018 opened my own full time Martial arts Dojo, Shogun Martial Arts, this is a non-profit making community amateur sports club (registered charity) Offering a safe space for those needing help with confidence or bullying. We are inclusive of age, ability, gender, and ethnicity. I offer instruction in Uechi Ryu Karate, Tomiki Aikido and Shimbukan Kobudo.

1968 started training in Judo at local club.
1972 started trading in Wado Ryu Karate, with Tatsuo Suzuki.
1982 started training in Uechi Ryu Karate
2005 started training in Tomiki Aikido
2009 Shodan- Japan Aikido Association / British Aikido Association
2010 Nidan – Japan Aikido Association / British Aikido Association
2013 Sandan – Japan Aikido Association / British Aikido Association
2018 Yondan – Japan Aikido Association / British Aikido Association
2023 Godan British Aikido association
2016 Started training in Daito Ryu Aikijitsu with Howard Popkin and Joe Brogna
2017 Granted Dokukai status in RyuKyu Shimbukan Kobudo by Akamine Sensei

Lee has been training continuously since 1968 without breaks and owns and operate the Shogun Martial arts School in Kent
