Justin brings 60 years of Uechi-Ryu karate experience, holding a 9th Dan rank and titles of Hanshi and Shihan. Over his extensive career, he trained with many esteemed masters, most notably his teacher, George Mattson, who significantly influenced his personal growth and professional development in Uechi-Ryu. Motivated by his teachers and students, Justin has dedicated his life to studying and teaching Uechi-Ryu karate. He authored the book “Insights Into Uechi-Ryu Karate” (2024). Now retired from his business career, he teaches Uechi-Ryu karate worldwide through the Mattson Academy of Karate (www.AtHomeKarate.com).
